Pathway to Protection Network CIC | Domestic Abuse Support

Safeguarding Statement

Pathway to Protection Network CIC is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults at risk.

We recognise that people affected by domestic abuse may face increased risks of harm, abuse, exploitation or neglect. We are committed to providing a safe, respectful, person-centred and trauma-informed environment and to responding appropriately when safeguarding concerns arise.

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. Any concern about the safety or welfare of a child, young person or adult at risk will be taken seriously and managed in accordance with our safeguarding procedures and relevant statutory requirements.

Raising a Safeguarding Concern

If you have a safeguarding concern relating to Pathway to Protection Network CIC, someone accessing our services, or the conduct of someone working or volunteering with us, please contact:

Safeguarding Email: safeguarding@pathwaytoprotection.org.uk

Please provide only the information necessary to explain your concern. Safeguarding information will be handled sensitively and shared only where necessary and appropriate in accordance with our safeguarding, confidentiality and information-sharing procedures.

Because people affected by domestic abuse may be using monitored devices or may not be safe to receive communications, please tell us if there are any safe-contact requirements, including whether it is safe to reply by email or contact you by another method.

If Someone Is in Immediate Danger

Do not use email or this website to report an emergency.

If you or someone else is in immediate danger or there is an immediate risk of serious harm, call 999.

If you are unable to speak when calling 999 from a mobile phone, follow the emergency operator’s instructions. Where appropriate, you may be able to use the Silent Solution by pressing 55 when prompted.

Our Safeguarding Arrangements

Pathway to Protection Network CIC is currently completing its organisational set-up and recruitment arrangements.

Suitably trained individuals will be formally appointed as our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (Deputy DSL) as part of these arrangements.

Pending those appointments, safeguarding concerns received through safeguarding@pathwaytoprotection.org.uk will be managed in accordance with our documented interim safeguarding, decision-making, reporting and escalation arrangements.

Where necessary, concerns may be referred to the appropriate statutory safeguarding authority or emergency service in accordance with our safeguarding responsibilities.

Confidentiality and Information Sharing

We respect the confidentiality and privacy of people who contact us. However, confidentiality cannot always be absolute where safeguarding is concerned.

Where there is a serious concern about the safety or welfare of a child or adult at risk, we may need to share relevant information with appropriate safeguarding authorities or other agencies. Where it is safe, lawful and appropriate, we will aim to explain this before information is shared.

Our Commitment

We are committed to continually developing and reviewing our safeguarding arrangements as Pathway to Protection Network CIC becomes operational, including appropriate recruitment, safer working practices, safeguarding training, clear reporting procedures and the formal appointment of safeguarding leads.

For more detailed information about our approach and responsibilities, please read our Safeguarding Policy.
