Our Commitment to Accessibility

Pathway to Protection CIC is committed to making our website and digital information accessible to as many people as reasonably possible.

We want people affected by domestic abuse, family members, professionals and members of the wider community to be able to access information and support regardless of disability, technology, device or method of interaction.

We aim to continually improve the accessibility and usability of our digital services.

Using This Website

We aim to make it possible for users to:

  • Navigate the website using a keyboard;
  • Use screen readers and other assistive technologies;
  • Zoom text without losing important content or functionality;
  • Understand content written in clear language;
  • Identify headings and links consistently;
  • Use forms with appropriate labels and instructions;
  • Access content across desktop, tablet and mobile devices; and
  • Identify keyboard focus clearly.

Accessibility Standards

We aim to work towards conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA, where reasonably applicable to our website and digital services.

Accessibility is an ongoing process, and some content or third-party components may not yet fully meet this standard.

Quick Exit Accessibility

Because some visitors may need to leave the website quickly, Pathway to Protection provides a prominent Quick Exitfunction.

We aim to ensure that this function is:

  • Keyboard accessible;
  • Clearly labelled;
  • Visible without relying solely on colour;
  • Usable on mobile and desktop devices; and
  • Available consistently across appropriate public pages.

Please note that Quick Exit cannot erase all browser history or guarantee that a visit to this website cannot be detected.

Known Limitations

Despite our efforts, some areas may present accessibility difficulties.

These could include:

  • Older PDF documents;
  • Third-party embedded content;
  • Videos without complete captions or transcripts;
  • External services over which we do not have full control; or
  • Legacy content awaiting remediation.

We aim to address identified issues according to their impact and available resources.

Alternative Formats

If you need information in another format, such as:

  • Large print;
  • Easy Read;
  • Accessible electronic format; or
  • Another reasonable format,

please contact us.

We will consider your request and aim to provide an appropriate alternative wherever reasonably possible.

If you experience difficulty using this website, please tell us.

It is helpful if you can provide:

  • The page or resource you were trying to use;
  • A description of the problem;
  • The device or browser you were using, if known; and
